MEET THE JACK & JANE

The Jack and Jane is a partnership of multidisciplinary artists. Our work explores the balance of interdependence—emphasizing presence, self-reflection, and accountability to strengthen community. We rely on curiosity, experimentation, and unfolding layers of meaning to guide our creative process. Although the medium of choice varies, our interest lies in the use of color, space, or reflective materials to bring awareness in examining how one’s metacognition affects the interpersonal.

Our venture into public art stems from an interest in the use of scale to shift perception. The call to examine one’s role in an interdependent system is encouraged in communal spaces. We recognize the power of inclusive, accessible art to engage the public, fostering moments of internal and external connection.

THE ART OF THE PIVOT

After more than a decade in our respective corporate careers, we courageously decided to take the leap to pursue our artistic dreams together. We recognize that changing directions requires the leverage of transferable skills. In our corporate experience, we've been team players and team leaders. We've been thrown into roles that stretched us far beyond our qualifications and navigated successfully. After spending years making companies better by bringing creativity, charisma, resourcefulness, a keen eye for detail, and an ability to punch above our weight, we decided to use those same strengths to cultivate something of our own.

Art isn't just what we do, it's who we are. We don't believe we were moonlighting as artists up until this point—quite the opposite. We have always been artists trying on clothes that didn't quite suit us. In the process, we not only honed our business acumen, we learned the power of creative vision to impact culture. Changing course with this assimilated expertise, we turn our focus to public art.
